Gerald Kamens
Gerald Kamens’s children’s picture book, Leopold and Clinton, will be published next year by Orchard House Press. His adult fiction and personal essays have appeared in a number of U.S. magazines, newspapers, and anthologies. He is also a playwright, actor, singer, and hospice volunteer.
Prior to his current incarnations, he worked many places in the United States, including, chronologically, a mental hospital, a car dealership, the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the White House, the U.S. Senate, and an international conflict resolution organization headquartered in Washington, DC. These jobs have shaped his views on trust, intimacy, and life – which he is now attempting to translate into a variety of children’s stories focused on fantasy, adventure, and real-life problems.
