Snowballs Fly in San Diego

© Anne Bromley // 912 views // read along:

This contemporary story is about feisty, five-year-old Rosie who wishes for snow even though snow never falls on coastal San Diego. But one unusually cold morning in mid-December, she gets her wish in the middle of drawing alphabet pictures in her kindergarten class. Fortunately, the teacher lets the children go outside to experience their first snowfall. And the snowballs fly! Unfortunately, the snow does not last. But Rosie’s abuela has a surprise for Rosie when she gets home. This story celebrates the extraordinary in the ordinary and shows that the only thing that lasts is what we hold in our imaginations.
